Boxed-in!

The Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt is one of the most remarkable incidences recorded in the Bible.  It portrays the power of God, the plan of God, and the path ordained by God for His chosen people.  God has a plan and purpose for each of us, and God is constantly leading us in that direction.  Sometimes our life is filled with trials and tears; sometimes, with problems and pain;  sometimes, with sadness and sickness.  We want to ask God why He has allowed it in our life. We have many unanswered questions in our hearts.   The Bible teaches an important lesson, vital for our life on earth.  The God of the Bible is all-powerful, all-knowing, and is present everywhere!  He has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  Even when we fall into sin and stray from the path ordained by God, God is patient with us, mindful of us, and waits for us to return to Him.

When the Israelites marched into the wilderness, God instructed Moses and told him that the people should turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon (Exodus 14:1).  Militarily this was a big mistake.  The place chosen by God was a valley between two mountains and the sea.  They were boxed in with no way of escape.  That is exactly what the Pharaoh thought!  The Pharaoh thought that the wilderness has confused the people and closed them in, so he decided to follow them with six-hundred choice chariots!  When the morning came, the Lord parted the sea, and the Israelites walked over to the other side while the Pharaoh and his army sank in the sea!   When God guides our lives, in every situation He leads us into, He can lead us out.  What we cannot do for ourselves, God will certainly do for us.  Through that boxed-in situation, the God of Israel demonstrated His awesome power!

My friend, we cannot understand the ways of God. But the Bible says His thoughts for us are much higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9) and  His thoughts are to give us a future and a hope (Jer 29:11).  Do not be discouraged.  The God of the Bible can deliver us from any situation, for He is the God of the impossible!  Commit your problem to the hands of God and wait upon Him.  God will make a way where there is no way!
