Moses, the man of God!
Last month our church family was shaken up because of a fatal accident in which a senior couple lost their life. After solemnizing their son's wedding in Chennai, they proceeded to another town to attend another reception when they met with an accident. They were active in many church activities and were a prayerful couple. Their sudden home-call was a grim reminder of the transience of life! The Bible says, "Better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, for that is the end of all men; and the living will take it to heart" (Eccl. 7:2). It allows us to look within and apply a course correction in case our ways are not pleasing in the sight of God!
As we come to the end of Deuteronomy, we read of the home-call of the man of God, Moses. God Himself testified about Moses. The Bible says that the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend (Ex. 33:11). God called Moses His friend. The Bible also says that the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth (Numbers 12:3). When Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses God said, "… My servant Moses; he is faithful in all My house. I speak with him face to face, even plainly, and not in dark sayings; and he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses? (Numbers 12:7,8)" God spoke with Moses face to face and called him a man of God (Deuteronomy 33:1). The Lord Himself has recorded all these things about Moses, which brought some questions to my heart. How would the Lord testify about me today? Is my life pleasing to God? Do I spend time in His Presence to be called a friend of God? Do I meditate upon His Word and build my decisions upon the Kingdom values? We have to answer these questions today!
My friend, have you ever thought about what the Lord would say when our time on this earth is up? Will the Lord say, My good and faithful servant? If our life is not measuring up, God gives us an opportunity today to turn it around. May the Lord help each one of us so that we can await His return without fear!
