Noah walked with God

Genesis 6:5 tells us what was going on in the days of Noah. "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."Genesis 6:11 tells us that "the earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence."Jesus pointed out that in Noah's day, the people were completely oblivious to the coming judgment of God. It was pretty much business as usual. They did not realize anything was wrong until the rain actually began to fall! When the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of His coming and the end of the world, and Jesus answered saying, " But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." (Matthew 24:36-39).

Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. Gen 6: 9 tells us that Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. How did Noah demonstrate his 'walking with God'? Only through his obedience. He built an enormous ark when there was no rain, enduring the ridicule of his peers. God's command did not seem to make sense to the people of his world around him. But Noah diligently and unwaveringly obeyed God. Today God is trying to shake us from our lethargy and complacency and wake us up. We see the evidence of the end times all around us. We are in days similar to the days of Noah. Immorality and lies rule the day. People happily accept it as the norm. The Bible says in Isaiah 5:20, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil…" The Bible promises that Christ will return at such a time as this.

My friend, Noah, walked with God. Unless we turn from our wicked ways, renounce the secret sins and stand-up for what is right, we cannot walk with God. Will you commit to obey the Word so that when the Lord appears in the cloud, we can rejoice with Him?
