The God of Creation!
Many theories have been put forward about creation. If you carefully read the first three chapters of Genesis, you can clearly identify the problem. Genesis 1:1,2 says darkness was on the face of the earth, which was without form. When the Bible says, 'In the beginning,' it means at the beginning of time. So sometime after the 'beginning' light was created (Gen 1:3). God separated the light from darkness, calling the light 'day' and the darkness 'night.' This was the 'first day' of creation. It was only on the fourth day that God created the sun, the moon, and the stars to give light on the earth. But light as such was created on the first day itself. The reason for God creating the sun, moon, and stars, apart from giving light, is that they would be as signs for reckoning days and years for mankind (Gen 1:14). The phases of the moon and the relative positions of stars mark the passage of time from the vantage point of the earth only. God, Himself is transcendent, that is beyond time.
We cannot measure God's actions according to our reckoning of time. When we ask the question, did the universe come into being in one day, we are limiting God to what we know as 'time.' Psalm 90:4 says, "A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night."
The LORD God Almighty (El Shaddai) created all things on the earth, beneath the earth and in the heavens above, yet He exists independent of them. What is important to us is the knowledge that this awesome creator God who is transcendent is also immanent, fully present in the physical world and thus accessible to each one of us. Jesus came as the Emmanuel God, God with us. Every day, everything we see must remind us that this awesome creator God is with us, through all our life situations! God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, and knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).
My friend, let us fix our gaze upon this awesome God, who spoke and brought order from chaos and get the strength to live for Him every day. Remember God is in control. His plans for you are the best! The Bible says, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37). The Lord promises to “… make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”(Isaiah 43:19)
