The Manifestation of Faith!
Billy Graham says that according to the Bible faith will manifest itself in three ways. It will manifest itself in doctrine—in what we believe. It will manifest itself in worship —our communion with God and the fellowship of the church. It will manifest itself in morality—in the way we live and behave as long as we live on planet Earth!
Abraham took his son to Moriah to sacrifice him fully believing that God was able to fulfill His promises to him in some way. Abraham told his servants, “… the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.” (Gen 22:5). Obedience to the Word even at a great cost is a manifestation of faith!
When Potiphar’s wife enticed Joseph, Joseph said that he cannot do that great wickedness, and sin against God. The Bible says in Gen 39:10, “… thathe did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her”. Saying ‘No’ to temptation is a manifestation of faith!
Hannah when she prayed for a son, she poured out her heart and the Bible says in 1 Sam 1:18 that, “...her face was no longer sad”. Casting our burdens at the feet of Jesus is a manifestation of faith!
When Jesus came to Cana of Galilee, there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he requested Jesus to come and heal his son Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” The Bible says in John 4:50, “… the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way”. His son was healed! Taking God at His Word is a manifestation of faith!
Many times, we anguish over unanswered prayers and unresolved issues in our lives. We say we have great faith. It is always good to do a self-check to see where we really are in this matter of faith. The Bible says in 1 John 3:22 “And whatever we ask we receive from Him because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight”. If we are able to take God at His Word and live in obedience to Him then that is the manifestation of our faith!
My friend, let us today ask the Lord to empower us to overcome our weaknesses so that we can truly live out our faith! May the Lord bless each one of us!
