The Risen Christ
Bible Reading: John 20:11–18
One day, after attending a meeting, I was walking to the car with a heavy heart and tear-filled eyes. As I stopped to cross the road, an auto rickshaw crossed me. I do not remember the Bible verse written on the back of that auto, but I do remember how that verse ministered to my heart. I immediately felt light, and the gloom left me. Jesus met me on that road and comforted me that day!
After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to many of His followers in different places. What is striking about these appearances is that Jesus met them in the ordinary moments of their lives—not in the temple or in some sacred place, but wherever they were. This shows the risen Lord is present with us as we go about our daily lives!
Mary Magdalene encountered the risen Lord at the tomb while she was grieving and searching for Him. The disciples saw Jesus when they were hiding behind closed doors because of fear. The two travelers on the road to Emmaus met Him as they were walking. Later, Jesus appeared to the disciples again while they were fishing on the Sea of Galilee.
Each appearance happened in everyday settings—through sorrow, fear, conversation, or work. Jesus met them where they were.
This reminds us of a central truth of the resurrection: The risen Lord Jesus wants to meet us in the everyday moments of our lives, not just in special places or events.
The risen Christ is not distant from our daily lives. He walks with us through every experience we face. When we are confused, He enlightens us through His Word. When we are afraid or sad, He comforts us. When we are agitated, He brings peace to our hearts. When we feel like failures, He meets us and recommissions us for His service.
My friend, Easter is not only about remembering that Jesus rose from the dead. It is a reminder that He walks with us today. As you go through your daily activities, hold onto this truth that the risen Christ is present with you. Invite Him into your life, your work, your struggles, your decisions, and your relationships. May The Lord give us His peace.
Prayer: Risen Lord Jesus, help us to recognize Your presence in the ordinary moments of our lives. Help us to trust and obey You. Walk with us, teach us, and use our lives for Your purpose and glory. Amen.
