Walk in the Light!
The first Good Friday was the darkest day in the life of the followers of Christ. Jesus was crucified on that day on the Cross of Calvary. The Bible says that from the sixth hour until the ninth hour, there was darkness over the earth (Luke 23:44). But it did not stay that way for long. The resurrection day brought forth Light. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." He also said, " He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."(John 8:12). Light Is Good. Light always removes darkness! I found an Interesting observation in 1 John 1:7, which says, "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, …". When we walk in the Light, I thought, we should expect to see God for He is Light! But the Bible says if we walk in the Light, we will have ‘fellowship’ with one another. What disrupts our fellowship with others most is our sin. People love darkness because it hides their sin! 1 John 1:6 He says, "If we claim to have fellowship with God and yet walk in darkness, we lie, and do not live out the truth." We cannot walk with God and sin. God cannot tolerate sin. If we walk with God, we will also hate sin. Jesus said we are the Light of the world (Matthew 5:14). He said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16 ). When we walk in the Light, as Jesus is the Light, we should be able to fully reflect His Light into this world so that people can see Jesus in us! Being God's little lights where God has placed us is something God expects from each one of us today. That is the purpose of our life. The Bible says in Acts 13:47, "For so the Lord has commanded us: 'I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth." My friend, this lock-down, has given us a lot of time to read the Bible, meditate and pray. Let our minds be renewed so that we focus on God's purpose for our lives by walking in His Light! May the power of resurrection enable us to walk in the Light!Leave a comment
